Watson and Holton Collaborations

Karen and Peter have embarked on a new journey to combine elements of original works in wood with mixed media collage to bring their combined skills and curiosity to fruition. These works began as personal projects and lead to offerings in the shop and to commissions. Decoupage adds delight to the charm of old wood.

Wall Cabinet

This cabinet is built from a broken antique pine interior door and scrap pine boards left over form a construction project.

Karen decoupaged the door panels and door pulls.

Custom and Commission Works

Examples of prior projects. These are not available for sale.

Custom Media Stand

This stand is constructed from a variety of pieces of hardwood, salvaged from the sea, a wrecked boat, and from a deck construction. Peter saved the boards over the years for something… There is a mixture of various grades of Mahogany and some Teak. Karen created decoupage panels for each of the four lower cabinet doors.

Storage Bench

Our customer expressed a need for a small chest to use in a bedroom to store seasonal linens and to serve as a place to sit. She asked that as a seat, it would have a back so as not to need to lean against anything else.

She was also intrigued by the collaged panels on a cabinet on display at our gallery.

Peter designed and built the chest of figured North American Poplar. Karen created a four panel collage on Birch laminate.
